Prof. (Dr.) P.M.S. Chauhan is a renowned scientist with over three decades of research experience at the CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI), Lucknow, where he formerly served as Chief Scientist and Professor (AcSIR). A first-division scholar throughout his academic career, he earned his Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry from CDRI/Agra University in 1984.

His research focuses on the design and synthesis of bioactive heterocycles for the development of antitubercular, antimalarial, antileishmanial, and anticancer agents. Dr. Chauhan has authored over 130 publications, holds six Indian patents, and has mentored 22 Ph.D. students.

He brings global research experience from the University of Liverpool, RWTH Aachen, and the University of East Anglia, supported by prestigious fellowships including the DAAD Fellowship (Germany). In recognition of his scientific impact, he was recently named among the Top 2% Scientists Worldwide in Medicinal and Biomolecular Chemistry by Stanford University.

Dr. Chauhan is the Founder and General Secretary of the Indian Society of Chemists and Biologists (ISCB) and has organized over 20 national and international conferences, hosting eminent scientists such as Nobel Laureate Prof. Robert H. Grubbs.

He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC) and serves on the editorial boards of respected journals including Future Medicinal Chemistry and Chemistry and Biology Interface (as Editor-in-Chief). His contributions have been recognized with honors such as the Rashtriya Gaurav Award, Honorary Diploma from Russia, and the Prof. S.P. Hiremath Award.
